Hodads

So, Alex and I had been wanting to go try out Hodad's forever (well since we'd seen it on Diner, Drive-In's, and Dives...a favorite show of ours).

As most of you know, we're California natives, so when we hear someone say that a certain burger is better than In-N-Out's we get rather defensive b/c nothing beats In-N-Out! Well, I think it's safe to say that Hodads definitely comes close! If the prices were the same, I might say they were better (gasp)!

I am not a "burger trying" girl when we go places. I love burgers, but for some reason, I have always been drawn to other items on the menu, so when I say that this burger was good, I mean it!!!!

I wish I had thought to take pictures of our AMAZING food. I had a cheeseburger, Alex had a double double cheese burger, the kids each had a mini cheeseburger (which were still a pretty decent size), and we all shared a half and half, which was half onion rings (some of the best I've ever had), half fries. We did manage to snap a couple pictures of the kids while we were waiting for our food.

Wild Animal Park

A couple of weekends ago, we had the chance to go to the Wild Animal Park (for the first time) with the Frenzel Family! :)

The kids had so much fun together and of course it was nice for us to catch up with Sarah and Derek!

We walked all around the park, had a picnic lunch, and enjoyed each other's company! Here are some pictures from our adventure!

The kids had so much fun on the Carousel!

Feeding the Ducks!

We had so much fun feeding the Lorikeets! Madison had a blast having them all land on her!

Watching the elephants was another hit (especially the little baby one, which was born in September)!

Valentine's Day

We've been a little busy around here and I've been terrible about getting on the computer and blogging our fun times!

Here are a couple of pictures that I snapped on Valentine's Day :)

One Busy Day

Last weekend, Alex and I had a crazy Saturday. It began with Madison's Family Day at her preschool. Then, we had to rush off to dance class. Next, it was home for lunch and then off to a sweet friend's birthday party. Finally, we were able to end the day with a WONDERFUL Date!!!!

Alex took me ice-skating and then afterwards we went to the Melting Pot for Appetizers and Dessert! We had so much fun!

I can't remember the last time that I went ice-skating (I think it was about 7 years ago with my friends in my teaching program). It was so much fun to just be there with Alex, to hold hands and skate through the crowds, knowing the crowd was there, but caring nothing about it. We were smitten with each other. We were giggly and playful! It was a much needed night out and we definitely had fun!

We LOVE the Melting Pot and I was so excited when I found out that Alex had made us reservations to enjoy a little fondue after our fun outing. We had our favorite Spinach and Artichoke Cheese Dip. Then we each had a yummy salad and finished off the meal with their Flaming Turtle Chocolate Fondue!

It was a wonderful night and the perfect way to end such a busy busy day!

My Happy Boy!

Our Little Dancer

On Saturday, Madison had her first dance class. She is taking a class through EVOLVE Dance at the Rec Center. It is a tap/ballet Class and she LOVED it.

Saturday was the first class. It was also the first day of figuring out that there had been a glitch in our registration, but Madison didn't mind b/c it meant that she was able to take two dance classes back to back. Even though we signed Madison up for the 4.5-6 year old class on-line, for some reason, when the email was sent to us with the class time it said 10:15. Little did we know that was for the 3-4 year olds (and we didn't discover Madison was in the wrong class until part way through her class when another parent mentioned that she, also thought her daughter was in the wrong class). As a result of the on-line error, Madison and her other little friend both were able to stay and take the class immediately following so that they could meet their new dance friends and learn the right steps for their class.

Madison was elated to be in her dance class. She wanted her hair in a bun (just like a ballerina) which lasted about ten minutes and then it fell out (I have to work on my bun skills).

Madison's class started out with tap first and then part way through they switched to their ballet shoes and did ballet for the last half of the class.

We love Madison's teacher. She is so sweet with the kids. I think this is going to be a really fun experience for Madison.

We weren't allowed in the room, but we could watch through the window (so most of the pictures were taken through glass).

Madison is already asking on a daily basis, when she can go back to dance class. I am so glad she's loving it!
