Twins?

So, everyone has been telling us how much Hudson and Madison look alike and we totally agree. Yesterday, we had Hudson's one month pictures taken and we had a similar style for one of his pictures as one of Madison's 4 month old pictures. I put them side by side when we got home and the similarities are crazy! It's also crazy to me that Madison and Hudson look about the same chunkiness in these pictures and there is a three and a half month time difference between when their ages in these pictures. My little Hudson is a chunky monkey and I LOVE it!

So, here are the two pictures side by side...my little twins.

Hello World!

Here is a good shot of Hudson with his eyes wide open and looking around :) Love this little guy!

Hello Everyone!

Thought this picture was so cute! It looks like he's waving to the camera. Also, I feel like, in this picture especially, that Hudson and Madison look so similar at this age. I know these pictures are different profiles, but I think you can still see the resemblance :) I had better ones, but when our computer died last year, we lost a majority of them :(

Bike Day

Madison's preschool did a "bike day" yesterday! This was sort of like a jog-a-thon, in that the kids were able to get sponsored for their number of laps completed. All of the proceeds were being sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which I thought was soooo cool. Alex and I have a big soft spot in our hearts for St. Jude's Children Hospital, so we were elated when we found out Madison's preschool was holding this event!

Madison had so much fun riding her bike at school. She also loved that she was wearing her helmet. We hadn't bought her a helmet yet because we hadn't graduated her to a "big girl" bike yet, but in order to participate in this bike day at her school she had to have a helmet, so we went out and of course found a princess one and that was the first day she had been able to wear it.

I felt a little silly because all of the other kids at Madison's school had "big kid" bikes, but Madison didn't seem to mind. We have been saving getting her a big girl bike for her 4th birthday, but we'll see...maybe we'll cave in and get her one a little earlier since her birthday is still three months away and the days are perfect for riding a bike.

Writing Names

Yesterday, while we were all just sitting around, enjoying being a family of four, Madison asked if we could get her pencils and crayons out so that she could write in her new notepad. She had been pretty occupied for a good 15-20 minutes and periodically told us that she was working on her letters. Than all of a sudden she had this HUGE smile on her face and said she wanted to show us something. What Madison ended up showing us was her name. She had written it out all by herself without looking at any sample names or sample letters. It was all from memory recall! We were so proud of her. Here are two pictures of this special time. She was so proud of herself and needless to say, we were also very proud of her!

Happy Birthday Hudson!

While I have a quick minute, I just wanted to update my blog. On February 25th at 8:28 am, my son, Hudson, was born! He was 7 lbs, 11 oz and 19.5 inches long. He is perfect! I am in awe again of God's little miracles called babies. I mean seriously, when you see a baby and think about how they come to be here, how can anyone not believe in God! They are truly amazing, especially my little Hudson.

Hudson was delivered through a c-section. I was really nervous about it, but God calmed my nerves and all went incredibly well. I was able to go home at the 48 hour mark from my surgery and was so very thankful to be home. I delivered at Balboa Naval Medical Center and had a WONDERFUL experience, but there is something about being home and getting to begin our life as a family of four that is just priceless.

Hudson is healthy by all definitions of the word and is probably one of the biggest blessings in my life, besides my husband and daughter. I wake up each morning just thankful for another day to spend with this beautiful family God has chosen to bless me with. Our God is so good!

Madison is taking very well to her new role as a big sister. She is super excited to help in any way she can and she adores the times she gets to just hold her little brother and talk to him. I can tell that Madison is anxious for Hudson to already be big enough for her to "play" with, but she is very nurturing by nature and has taken to helping us care for him.

Thank you to all of you who have sent kind messages, voicemails, texts, emails, and prayers our way. We appreciate them all and can't even begin to tell you how much your thoughtfulness has meant to us. We have truly been blessed by you all. We have loved the decorative balloons, the beautiful flowers, the delicious meals, and all of the thoughtful little gifts you have bestowed upon us.
