Pig-tails

Madison has been letting me put pig-tails in her hair lately and I finally captured them on camera! This is Madison just before we went to church this morning :)

"Ruthie"

Our very dear friends the Drnecs always try to have us over so we can hang out whenever we are in Orange County. We became very close with Tim, Brienna, and Ruthie (their daughter who is 3 months older than Madison) and so we love getting to see them whenever possible. Here are some pictures of the kids playing in Ruthie's room. Thank you for having us over, despite the fact that Tim had just gotten back from his long absence. We can't wait until your visit in the desert with us!

Yorba Regional Park

A couple of weekends ago (I know, I'm late in posting this), we went to Yorba Regional Park to feed the ducks and play on their cool kid parks. We had so much fun! Madison had a blast feeding the ducks. She didn't quite get the "throwing" of the bread to the ducks, but she dropped it into the water in front of her. (I think the same four ducks ate her whole loaf of bread).

After we ran out of bread, we went and played on the playground (two different ones). Madison loved the slides, the tunnels, and the steps. We had fun too!

Bubbles

Madison just loves blowing bubbles. Here are a few pictures from our most recent bubble extravaganza!

Potty Training

We are venturing into the realm of potty training. We are going slow, but steady. Madison loves sitting on her Elmo potty chair, so she always runs to the bathroom and says "Potty mama, potty!" Here is a cute picture of her practicing how to sit on her potty.

"I Now Pronounce You..."

On Saturday, my parents, Alex and I went to one of my friend's weddings. I've known Tory since I was in eighth grade. Our parents over the last few years have become really close. Tory got married at St. Paschal's Church and then had her reception at Spanish Hills. Everything was beautiful!

When we first got to the reception, there was a seafood table with a beautiful ice sculpture. On this table there were all sorts of items from shrimp, sushi, crab legs, and oysters. Alex had never tried an oyster before, but was curious to, so here are a few pictures of him trying his very first oyster (and he's said he'll never do it again).

Here are some pictures of my parents, Alex and I while we were at our table.

Here are some pictures from the dance floor

New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve, we ended up being back in 29 Palms, so we decided to have a little get together at our house. We had so much fun with all of our friends. Everyone came over around 6:00 and we ate, hung out, and played games until midnight. We played a little bit of LCR (congrats to Bobby and Melissa who won the jack pot), a little bit of Catch Phrase, and a little bit of Apples to Apples.

We ended up having so much food it was crazy! If all of us, the guys included, had eaten the whole time we still wouldn't have finished all of the food everyone brought. I sure know some amazing cooks. We had a wide array of food everything from stew and jambalaya, to egg rolls and fried ravioli and everything in between!

Thank you to everyone for making New Year's Eve a blast and we look forward to enjoying 2009 with all of you!

Jaclyn's Engaged!!!

On the 26th of December, we got on the road bright and early to head to Thousand Oaks. This was going to be the only day that Jaclyn, Kami and myself would all be in the same place at the same time. We met up at my parents house and took our traditional picture in front of the Christmas tree, but this year we got to have fun with the picture, as Jaclyn got engaged a few days before Christmas!!!! For those of you that don't know, Jaclyn, Kami and I have known each other almost 23 years now! Wow!

Anyway, after all of the pictures, the three of us went to Claim Jumper for lunch. We sat and talked and had so much fun! It's been awhile since we were able to just do that, usually when we all see each other it's at some holiday function, but this time it was just us girls! And, of course, we took a bunch of pictures at lunch.

Then we were off to Oxnard, to go to David's Bridal so that Jaclyn could start trying to decide what kind of bridesmaid dresses she wants for her wedding. Kami and I had fun being models....we took some classic pictures.

After all of that, Jaclyn was able to solidify her color, but no dress style has been picked yet. Although, we found a beautiful one at a place in Camarillo when Jaclyn went to try on wedding dresses, but they didn't allow camera's.

Jaclyn and Barry I am so happy for you! I am so thankful that you guys found each other. I pray many blessings on you guys as your plan your wedding and get ready for your life together!
